Following the success of Pastilla Nash Prune & Walnut log comes Pastilla Nash Sugar Plum & Hazelnut Bonbons.

Jan Nash, acclaimed chef and owner of Pastilla Nash, has created this exquisite treat after receiving countless emails, letters and calls from delighted Pastilla Nash Prune & Walnut log customers around Australia and the world who were eager for more treats from Jan’s kitchen.

Once Jan had perfected the bonbon recipe, she set off to meet with Australian farmers to secure their finest harvest of fresh Australian hazelnuts and organic sugar plums. Back in her Sydney kitchens she made the first batch of samples.

Handmade using sugar plums, hazelnuts, honey and lemon juice, the rich mixture is then cut into individual bite sized bonbons and individually wrapped. “It will be love at first bite”, said Jan and others who sampled the first round.

The next stage was to package up these delightful treats. Enter James Gordon, artist, stylist, designer and friend best known for his decorative and witty ‘take’ on things.

In Jan’s garden, over vodka sodas and nibbling Jan’s sugar plum bonbons, the paid began brainstorming packaging ideas. By the end of the day it proved that one’s environment is very conducive to creativity!

As petals fell to the garden floor, Jan visualised a lovely little handbag filled with her treats, and James caught a glimpse of a tiny fairy sculpture high in one of Jan’s trees. Thus the concept of the sugar plum fairy was born.

Thanks to James Gordon’s amazing drawings, Pastilla Nash Sugar Plum & Hazelnut is now available in four different handbag designs; ‘Sugar Plum and Hazelnut medley’, ‘The Sugarplum Fairy’, ‘Bees in full flight’ and ‘Blossom’.

Sugar Plum & Hazelnut Bonbons can be enjoyed as a guilt free treat on their own or served with cheese, coffee, tea or champagne. They make a gorgeous addition when styling a cheese platter and the beautiful packaging makes them the perfect gift. And as they are Australian-made, they make a wonderful gift to send to friends overseas!
